The big event is here and Taco Rey is thrilled to be a part of the action in Port Neches at the RiverFest. Having missed out on all the fun last year due to Covid, everyone (including us) is so excited to mix it up with friends, family, and the whole community for what is sure to be a fun time for all.
RiverFest is a spectacular festival for Mid County that attracts visitors from all over. The games, rides, the boat races, and friendly faces are awesome, but let’s get real. We all know the big crowd-pleaser. It’s the food! Southeast Texas has a melting pot of flavors with Cajun, BBQ, and more, but for Mexican food—it’s all Taco Rey! We are beyond excited to bring the best of Tex-Mex all weekend.
Look for our Taco Rey food truck and trailer, and stop by to get street style tacos, our famous beef nachos, and our wildly popular queso-topped Taco Burger. It’s amazing, and there’s nothing else like it.
“We’ve been doing a taco burger for a while, but within this last year it’s gotten so popular,” says owner Johnny Collazo. “I think it’s our most requested item lately, which is really saying something since so many know us for our tacos.”
The Taco Burger has our seasoned ground beef, fresh vegetables and cheese just like our legendary tacos. Instead of a soft tortilla or a crunchy hard shell, it’s stacked generously on a hamburger bun, then drowned in our special queso. It’s a mouthwatering, eye-catching, glorious taco burger.
“We douse it in our queso, we stick a fork in it, and hand it over to folks and they have the biggest smiles on their faces. They love it, and we love seeing their eyes light up. It’s special, it’s different than anything else around, and it’s delicious. And we know they’re going to love it,” says Collazo.
Port Neches RiverFest is an awesome event. Look for the red, white, and blue trailer with Taco Rey loud and proud.
